Like This

He persisted forward as the wind tore through his eyes and pounded against his motivation. Glistening moisture and light strain outlined his eyes. The journey was becoming arduous. It had taken great strength and serious loss to get to this point. Glancing back he noticed the thin film of a delicate past and how it encircled him with wondrous colours, touching him and teasing him. To his right was a semi-transparent creature holding great daffodils of various sizes and shapes, he was making soft teething sounds, like he had something to say but was strapped internally by the hands of his ancestors. The wind carried the creature aloft and left a sordid residue and a pleasant taste in the back of my throat.

I noticed a collection of shiny objects amongst the soil in the ground in front of me, gently exposed and glimmering the cool reflection of a unique cloud configuration. Looking up toward the sky and taking in heaving breaths, I trudged on.

As the path wound up along the edge, the weight of my mind and that of my visions ebbed into a feathery sweetness, heightened by the soothing sounds of the mechanics of the universe. I could feel the speed at which the earth was rotating and the strength of gravity hugging me to the ground. Mostly I could feel the intense energy blooming out of everything around me, intertwining my every sense.

Although the sense of everything alive was so magical and overwhelming, so was the isolation…
